For Sclifos, painting represents access to a state of relaxation, almost a trance in which the game with mass always shows us new possibilities of reconfiguration of the world. Even he doesn’t see the final product when he starts to paint, he is driven by colours or textures and often is surprised by what’s happening on the canvas – this way painting is an instrument of both knowledge and self-knowledge.
The reality disappears when brush touches the canvas. Every real-life problem disappears, as if the artist travels to his childhood and his soul is filled with a sense of freedom.
”I forget about obligations, I start to perceive the world of reverie, sometimes the sleep forgets me and doesn’t help me to fall into it.”
